 Tivoli Ballet School International Summer Intensive 2019 in collaboration with School of the Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier

29. July - 3. august 2019, Age 15-20

We are honoured to announce the 2019 Summer Intensive at Tivoli Ballet School in collaboration with the School of the Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier, taking place in Tivoli, Copenhagen from 29. July to 10. August 2019. Ages 12-20. This registration applies to the first week of the summer intensive for the age group 15-20.

The distinguished teaching staff from the School of the Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier includes Kevin Haigen, Artistic Director and Pedagogical Director of the National Youth Ballet and Principal Ballet Master of the Hamburg Ballet. The repertoire and pas de deux classes will focus on the choreographic work of John Neumeier, and give the participants a unique opportunity to learn and explore his artistic legacy.

Monday 29. July – Saturday 3. August 2019 at Tivoli Ballet School, Tivoli, Vesterbrogade 3, 1630 Copenhagen, Denmark
 
Participants
Classes are open to students from age 15 to 20.
 
Schedule
More detailed schedule will follow in the near future. Classes include:
Ballet Technique for boys and girls
Pointe Class
Repertoire focused on the work of John Neumeier
 
Admission
Registration will be by application, and possibly request of a short video, of barre and center work. Students are required to have a strong classical ballet technique with a minimum of three years of training at an advanced level.
 
Medical Insurance
Students must be covered by their own medical insurance. The International Summer Intensive is not responsible for any medical coverage or injury related expenses. It is required that the dancers are in good health in order to prevent injuries.
 
Tuition
 
Tuition for one week - 6 days of tuition including light snack and lunch each day, and admission to Tivoli:
Early bird tuition until 1. March 2019: 2800 DKK for one week
Tuition after 1. March 2019: 3000 DKK for one week
 
Tuition for the two weeks - 12 days of tuition including light snack and lunch each day, and admission to Tivoli:
Early bird tuition until 1. March 2019: 5400 DKK for two weeks
Tuition after 1. March 2019: 5800 DKK for two weeks

What to wear
Girls: black leotards - pink tights and ballet slippers and bring point shoes.
Boys: black tights - white t-shirt and white ballet slippers.
 
General information
There will be a showing Saturday 3. August on the open air stage of the Peacock Theatre inside Tivoli Gardens open to the general public.

On arrival you will receive a welcome folder with necessary information about Tivoli, the locations, the city and weekly schedule. The folder also includes an admission card for the amusement park Tivoli.

Accommodation
Copenhagen has various opportunities of accommodation and Tivoli Ballet School will gladly convey on request.

 

Tivoli Ballet School has dedicated its International Summer Intensives to the purpose of connecting young dancers from all over the world and expanding their understanding of our art form in the beautiful setting of Tivoli Gardens.
