International Summer Intensive 2017, week 31, age 12-14

Peter Bo Bendixen, Artistic Director of Tivoli Ballet Theatre and Niels Balle, Director of Tivoli Ballet School, are honored to host our International Summer Intensive in collaboration with Hamburg Ballet School.

Tivoli Ballet School offers an exclusive seminar classes taught by Kevin Haigen and Anna Urban, Hamburg Ballet School, and Eva Draw, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, together with Heather Jürgensen, Ballet Kiel. The repertoire classes will be based on experts from John Neumeier choreography.

Classes are open to students from age 12 to 20. .

There will be student activities in the evening twice a week. You are free to attend.

Admission
Students must be covered by their own medical insurance. The Summer School is not responsible for any medical coverage or injury related expenses.

Students are required to have a strong classical ballet technique, with a minimum of three years of training at an advanced level.

It is necessary that the dancers are healthy for this kind of technical dance in order to prevent injuries.

Fee
6 days of tuition including breakfast and light lunch each day:
€ 350 for one week (week 30 or 31)
€ 700 for both weeks

What to wear Girls: black leotards - pink tights and ballet slippers and bring point shoes. Boys: black tights - white t-shirt and white ballet slippers.

General information
There will be a short showing Saturday 5th of August in Lumbye studio in Tivoli Concert Hall. On arrival you will receive a welcome folder with necessary information about Tivoli, the locations, the city and of course the seminar. The folder also includes an admission card for the amusement park Tivoli, and one free ride pass.
Copenhagen has various opportunities of accommodation and Tivoli Ballet School will gladly convey on request.

ANNA URBAN

EVA DRAW

Graduated from Bolshoi Ballet School and State University of Theatrical Arts (Class of Marina Semeonova, Vaganova Method) in Moscow, Russia. Immigrated to Canada in 1993. Completed Teachers Training course for professional dancers at NBS (National Ballet School of Canada, Chechetti and RAD qualifications).From 1995 – full member of faculty at NBS. Became senior ballet teacher and senior student advisor. Also guest teaching across Canada and USA.In 2009 she was invited to RDB (Royal Danish Ballet) where she joined faculty at Royal Danish Ballet School and became teacher and Ballet master for the Company.Staged: “Pas de Quatre”, “Dying Swan”, Grand Pas from “Raymonda”, Pas de Deux from “Corsaire”, and full length of “La Bayadere” together with artistic director Nicolaj Hübbe. Coached dancers in “Sleeping Beauty”, “Nutcracker”, “Swan Lake”, “Serenade”, “The Cage”, “Dances at the Gathering”, “Giselle”, “Lady of the Camellias”, and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. She has been a part of the jury in YAGP (Youth American Grand Prix) and Japan Grand Prix. Eva was also a part of the teaching faculty in the Nordic Seminar (Stockholm, Helsinki) and at the Bartholin Seminar in Copenhagen.

ANNE HOLM-JENSEN PEYK

Anne Holm-Jensen Peyk is a graduate of both the John Cranko School and the University of Copenhagen. Peyk has worked with The Chemnitz Ballet, Tivoli Ballet Theater, Royal Danish Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Finnish National Ballet, and Hamburg Ballet. During her 13 years as Ballet Master with the Royal Danish Ballet, Peyk collaborated with many choreographers such as Ratmansky, Cherkaoui, Neumeier, Wheeldon, McGregor, and Horecna. In 2016, Peyk joined Tivoli Ballet School as Principal Teacher. Peyk has been working with dancer rehabilitation training for over 10 years and hold certifications in SomaTraining, ELDOA and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC). Peyk is founding member and member of the board of Dance Science Denmark, an association dedicated to promoting dancer’s health issues.
